Benefits Assistant
Position Qualifications
- Prefer a college degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
- One or more years of work experience in business environment.
- Intermediate word processing and spreadsheet software skills.
Position Responsibilities
- Assist in the annual health and welfare open enrollment.
- Responsible for all data entry into the Department’s HRIS data base.
- Assist in the processing of all non-contributory enrollments on a monthly basis.
- Assist in the distribution of required plan documents and plan policies to new hires.
- Assist in the administration Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA).
- Provide participant support.
- Assist in the handling of incoming and outgoing phone calls from participants.
- Responsible for the coordination of all department file maintenance.
- Assist in the maintenance of Benefits related files: Confidential, general administrative.
- Assist in the updates regarding 401(k) enrollment and deferral changes.
- Assist in processing all Personnel Adjustment Advice (“PAA”) forms.
- Function in a support role regarding the strategic planning of the Company’s benefits portfolio.
- Assist in the administration of FMLA.
- Processing of department communication.
- Assist with the orientation of new hires.
