Electronic Systems Specialist
Position Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5-8 years’ experience in field maintenance of major electronic and electrical systems.
- In-depth knowledge of the application, design, and maintenance of drilling rig electronic and electrical equipment and systems.
- In-depth knowledge of control and instrumentation systems.
- Good understanding and working knowledge of machinery and systems as applicable to the ABS “Rules for Building and Classing MODU’s”.
- Good understanding and working knowledge of rules related to industry application of societies rules, such as the IEEE/NEC/IEC/ANSI/ISA/API/ASME.
- Familiarity with actual rig operations.
- Willing to travel up to 50% of the time
Position Responsibilities
- Visit Noble rigs and audit quality and methods of maintenance and provide formal reports to management.
- Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and repairs to equipment, as directed.
- Meet with outside vendors to discuss equipment design and manufacture.
- Keep abreast of equipment costs and obtain equipment quotes, as required.
- Communicate with the engineering departments of various vendors to ensure proper standards.
- Interface with all departments in the performance of job functions and assists as necessary.
